Psalms 118:24 reads: "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Each day is another day to get it right. Another day to learn to love the Lord in a deeper way. Another day to learn to love your neighbor as yourself. Another day to spread God's love and light into this world for the Glory of the one who made; the day.
Let us Rejoice
Google says: rejoice means to feel, show, or experience great joy, delight, or triumph. I used to feel great joy when I would listen to Earth, Wind and Fire's "Let Your Feelings Show". This song would bring me such joy because it gave me permission to smile. The song brought me joy, and a sense of pride that my family had something to do with the production of such great music. I learned how to let my feelings show through music.
Let it Show on Your Face
Yet, it is Jesus who creates the day for the music to be made. Jesus is the Canvas and the painter. He is the context of it all. Colossians tells us all about this fact when it says "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created," in Chapter 1:15-16. Jesus is the reason for your joy. To know Jesus is to know truth, love, & true joy. So if you do know Jesus, let that show on your face.
Compliment a Stranger Today
Rejoice and show the joy in your heart all over your face. We've got enough scowlers out there in the public square. Provide a smile for someone, and even a random compliment. It will just be a moment for you, but it could be an uplifter to someone's heart that goes far beyond what you could imagine. I challenge you today, say something nice to a stranger today, and let me know how it goes!
Express Joy
You will experience great joy when you begin to show great joy and delight for the little things. Be grateful that you woke up today, and express that. Express your joy, tell your story and how God brought you out of the darkness, for Revelation reads: "And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death." - Revelation 12:11
