Verse 10:
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up." Have you ever felt abandoned? Have you ever felt rejected? Or unloved? I have. This scripture hits hard when we're in those seasons. But remember, it is only a feeling, that came from a thought. And we don't have to identify with that thought, therefore eliminating the feeling (in theory). I'm still working on this myself, but its starting to make sense.
The Righteousness of God
Like the whole Righteousness of God concept. It has been so hard for me to grasp it because its so hard to think of me as righteous. But then I am reminded that it is not through me, but through Him. And the more I understand that and start to believe it the more His fruit grows within me and I am able to plant His seeds.
Verse 11:
"Teach me thy way, , O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies". Wisdom teaches us to reach out for the Lord for understanding, and to know and do things His way. He knows the right path for He formed it. "You saw me before I was born. The days alloted to me had all been recorded in your book, before any of them ever began".
-Ps. 130:16.
Verse 12:
"Deliver me not over the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty" The ESV says "breathe out violence". But this scripture gives me appeal credit. It allows me the idea that I could appeal to the Lord on my behalf. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need". -Heb. 4:16. (NKJV)
Verse 13:
"I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living". The Septuagint only says: "I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the living". This verse speaks to faith, and God's forever faithfulness.
Verse 14:
"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord". I am waiting Lord. Yet, sometimes the question comes up, how long do I wait and when do I take the initiative. We must be extremely sensitive to the Spirit through prayer and worship in order to hear from the Lord.
