Proverbs 4:18 reads: "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." To most, the most beautiful part of the day is the dawn. When the sun is just beginning to enter back into our awareness for the day. At that time, the golden orange rays begin to flood our horizon and consciousness, and begins to bring us the hope of a brighter new day. That is also us on our spiritual journey. Jesus says the angels rejoice when a sinner repents - Luke 15:10.
Righteousness
The path of the righteous or the path to righteousness is exactly that, a journey. And we never fully arrive until we are in heaven with the Father. Yet it is in the striving that makes us righteous, for we are made righteous through Him who strengthens us. We are made righteous through Christ, and not of our own works. As long as we stay in the fight. As long as we stay on the path, and walk humbly with the Lord, we are on the path of righteousness.
Brighter and Brighter
The more we realize we do need a savior. To save us from our sins, and to save us from ourselves. The more we can surrender and run into His arms. We can begin to rely on His strength for His strength is made perfect in our weakness. The more we submit and obey to His will and commandments, the more we will align with His plans and purpose for our lives. And just like Paul wrote in 2nd Corinthian 3:18 "we will continually be transformed into the same image (of Jesus) from one degree of glory to another." For Jesus said: "Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." - John 15:2.
