The Monthly Newsletter (March)

God

This will be the year I am actually consistent in something, anything! This fear of commitment is what has held me back from being who I want to be all this time: who God wants me to be. But it starts with me. And so it starts here, with this newsletter. As I make a commitment to you, to all of you, to me, but most importantly; to God.

Consistent Commitment

I will be consistent, I will follow through. I will give you a monthly newsletter where I will speak about the Bible (obviously) but also what the Lord is ministering to me that month. I will also be giving a full recap of the previous month and a foreshadowing of the month ahead.

Bruno Mars & J. Cole

I also will be giving my musical reviews of new albums that have dropped from my favorite artists. This month is a special on because two of my favorite artist dropped recently. Bruno Mars with his "The Romantic" album, and J. Cole with his "The Fall Off" effort.

The Review

When it comes to Bruno Mars, this record made me ask myself, "who is singing like this anymore?" Gone are the days of the crooners. The Luther's, The Sam Cooke's and the Teddy's. Bruno vocally calls back to the historic vocals that laid the foundation for R&B great R&B music and also brings back the vocals of the 80's and 90's vocals of New Edition, Boyz II Men and Jodeci. The record is classic Bruno Mars and he solidified himself as consistent firebrand. The guy doesn't miss. IMO: He has never put out a bad record.

The Fall-Off

J. Cole blessed us with "The Fall Off" and I'm still not done listening to it. He hit us with the 2Pac style double CD. Yet, from the first episode J. Cole is spittin some historic flows. The Cadences, the double entendre's and the storytelling is like no other MC. Cole even rips a page out of his favorite rapper's notebook Nas with the reverse rap verse in "The Fall-Off is Inevitable".

Micah 6:8

Overall this was a great week for music's evolution, and for my souls evolution as well. So come with me, sign-up, subscribe and join the journey. I am on my way to Canaan land. Following Christ where He leads. And as we know with Christ its not just about the destination but the walk. For as Micah 6:8 reads: "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God".
